The key word is POINT

POINT is the sharp tip of something, for example a knife or a ball point pen. A point can be a particular place, or a particular time. To point to something or point out something is to indicate it, particularly by using the finger. Point might also be a score, in a game. In another context, a point is a reason, an argument or perhaps an objective.

Some examples

Don’t point. It’s rude.
Our team won by 12 points.
Nobody asked for your point of view.
I want to make a point about an important issue.
I reached a point where I had to say I didn’t agree.

He understood nothing. He completely missed the point.
